I work at a daycare (have been for a few years now, although I'm leaving soon). And I was with the school age kids (the group I work with) in the toddler yard today. All the other kids had gone home, so the only two left were an 7 year old girl and a 5 year old boy. They were picking up dolls and noticing that some had holes so that the dolls could "pee." There was a lot of 'experimenting.' For example, the head came off one doll, and they realized there was water in it. Where did the water go?In the hole of another doll... and not the mouth hole. While they were doing this, they noticed something about the anatomy of dolls.
7 year Girl: How come all dolls are girls?
5 year Boy: I know. But I saw a boy doll... with boy parts. I didn't really like it.
G: hmm.
B: I don't think that boys would like that.
G: I don't think girls would like it either.
